1. Who we are
Intervu ("Intervu," "we," "us," or "our") is an AI interview practice service available at intervu.ca. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website or use the Intervu product.
Questions about this policy or your personal information can be sent to info@intervu.ca.
2. Information we collect
We collect personal information in the following categories:
- Account information. When you sign in, we receive identifiers such as your email address and authentication details through our authentication provider (Supabase Auth). If you sign in with a third-party provider (for example, Google or LinkedIn), we receive the account information that provider shares with us for authentication.
- Content you submit. Text you enter into Intervu, including resume and career background text, job posting text, job titles and company names you save, interview answers, and contact-form messages.
- Generated interview data. AI-generated interview questions, scores, coaching feedback, attempt history, and related session metadata tied to your account.
- Communications and waitlist requests. Messages you send through our contact form (name, email, and message). If you join a plan waitlist while signed in, we store your account identifier and the plan you requested.
- Technical and usage data. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically collect standard server logs when you use Intervu (for example, IP address, request timestamps, and basic device or browser information). We do not currently operate a separate analytics or advertising tracking product in the Intervu application.
Intervu interviews are text-based. We do not currently record audio or video of your practice sessions.
Please do not submit unnecessary sensitive information. Resumes and answers can include personal details. Avoid entering information that is not needed for interview practice, such as government ID numbers, Social Insurance / Social Security numbers, banking or payment card details, passwords, authentication codes, or medical information. If you include such information in content you submit, it may be stored and, where needed for generation, sent to our AI provider as described below.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you
- Generate interview questions and feedback tailored to content you submit
- Store your resumes, job posts, interview sessions, attempts, and results so you can review and retry practice
- Enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and help protect the security of the service
- Respond to support requests and product feedback
- Manage waitlist requests and communicate about plans or updates you ask about
- Operate, troubleshoot, and improve Intervu
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. AI processing and service providers
To provide Intervu, we send only the information reasonably necessary to generate interview questions or feedback to our AI provider (currently OpenAI):
- Question generation: resume text and job post text you have saved for that interview
- Feedback generation: the interview questions and your corresponding answers for that attempt
That content may include personal information you chose to include in a resume or answer. We do not intentionally send your account password to the AI provider. OpenAI processes the content we submit in order to return generated questions or feedback. OpenAI's handling of that content is governed by OpenAI's terms and privacy documentation, which may change over time.
We also use service providers that process personal information on our behalf to host and operate Intervu, including:
- Supabase — authentication and database hosting
- Netlify — website hosting and delivery
- Railway — API hosting
- OpenAI — AI question and feedback generation
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies (including browser local storage) that are necessary to keep you signed in, maintain a browser session, and operate core product features. This may include authentication tokens managed by our authentication provider and a session indicator used by Intervu.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies or clearing browser storage may prevent you from staying signed in or using parts of the service.
6. How long we keep information
We retain account-linked content — including resumes, job posts, interview questions, answers, and feedback — for as long as your account remains active and the content is needed to provide the service. Contact messages are retained as long as reasonably necessary to respond and operate support. Waitlist entries are retained while they are needed to manage plan interest.
You can delete resumes, job posts, and interviews you own from within the product. Deleting that content removes it from the active product database used to provide Intervu. Copies may remain for a limited time in backups or system logs maintained by us or our hosting providers.
We may retain certain records longer when required for security, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or other legitimate business needs. We do not currently offer an automated retention schedule or automatic account purge in the product.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. How those rights apply can depend on applicable law.
In the product, you can edit or delete resumes, job posts, and interviews associated with your account, leave a plan waitlist you joined, and permanently delete your account from the Account page. Account deletion removes your account-linked content from the active product database and deletes your sign-in identity. To request a copy of personal information we hold about you, or if you need help with account deletion, email info@intervu.ca. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
If you are in Canada and have an unresolved privacy concern, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. These include encrypted transport (HTTPS) for the service, authenticated API access, and access controls intended to limit each user to their own content. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Intervu is intended for adults preparing for employment. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. We do not currently use an age-gate in the product. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. International transfers
Intervu uses infrastructure and service providers that may process personal information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. For example, AI processing by OpenAI and some hosting or database services may occur outside your home country. When personal information is processed internationally, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, which may differ from the laws where you live.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Intervu after a change becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
12. Contact us
